I’ve been having difficulty upgrading one of my phpBB2 forums to phpBB3. For some reason it is dying on one of the import steps. Due to this, the forum is going to need to remain at v2 for a while yet. The problem is that it is getting attacked RUTHLESSLY by spammers [...]

It looks like ICANN is trying to help put a stop to spamvertising. From the article:
