For the next installment of promotion, I am using an important technique: The Forum Signature. You should NEVER, NEVER spam forums with your website. That is a big, BIG no-no, however what is a great way to promote your site is to add your site information to your signature and to make very insightful and relevant posts on forums whose users may be interested in your content. Posting on other blogs, forums, slashdot, fark, and other sources of high traffic which will allow you to promote your site in your signature can be a powerful source of new traffic. Not only can you gain more readers in this way, but if that particular outlet doesn’t use rel=nofollow tags, then your sig could help you increase the number of links to your site and give you higher search engine rankings. I will be spending portions of my week making such posts and helping other people with web design questions, etc, while promoting my site at the same time as a result of my assistance. Not to mention, I like helping people find solutions regardless, so on a personal level this is one of the best forms of promotion!
