In any event, while I recommended (and still do, though after this experience…) them to small-medium websites who want to use CPM Ads, their rates and fill didn’t really impress me THAT much anyhow. But it gets worse…
- They wouldn’t work with me. I knew that a change to my Ad Chain may have had something to do with it, but they wouldn’t allow me to make changes to try and correct the issue.
- They said I had until June 11th. They canceled me on JUNE 4TH. This left me with a broken Ad Chain and lost advertising dollars. They didn’t give me forewarning, they just suddenly sent me an e-mail saying that my account was closed.
- I responded to their e-mail because it said:

You’ve got to be kidding me right?
I started out promoting Casale on this Blog. All mention of doing so has been removed. They still are one of the top to mid tier CPM-based Ad Networks, but I personally will likely never use them again. Personally? Their loss, not mine.

I’m glad you’re sharing this type of problem with us in detail. Ad networks should be held accountable for their customer service and committment. Better us bloggers know now if our ad network is likely to flake out on us!
Has anyone else heard of this type of problem with Casale, or any other major ad networks?
When I first tried an Ad Network back in…2000? It was L90/Zonfire. I got burned, badly. It had a large setup fee (that they took out of my earnings) and they weren’t serving a whole lot. I actually used PopUps and PopUnders for a while trying to get a check from them. When I finally got my first check it was followed up by a “we’re going out of business, selling our customers, and you aren’t one of them” e-mails. I didn’t have any advertising on any of my sites until Google AdSense came along. I started using Google and the program was fantastic. I now have relationships with Tribal Fusion, Burst Media, ValueClick Media, Adconion, Chitika, PriceGrabber, Careerbuilder, OneNetworkDirect, and several others. Really, Casale has been a good partner up to this point. It is regrettable that it came to this, but with so many partners, moving on is easy enough.
…which actually brings me to another point: diversify. Very early on in a website’s inception, having all of your eggs in one Advertising basket isn’t really much of an issue. However, later on in a website’s life it is very important to have a diverse set of revenue streams.
