While making money from your Website or Blog is important, one’s wealth can often be determined by their health. I feel that the healthier I am, the wealthier I am as my health affects every aspect of my life.

Lately I haven’t been terribly healthy. From not working out to double-cheese bacon burgers with buttered buns, I need to get back into shape. :-) So this morning my wife and I began walking and this afternoon we started planning our meals to watch what we are eating. Walking everyday can have numerous benefits to your health. One can most certainly enjoy life more if they have more life to enjoy. Here are a few benefits of walking as told by The Mayo Clinic:

  • Reduce your risk of a heart attack
  • Manage your blood pressure
  • Reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes
  • Manage your diabetes
  • Manage your weight
  • Manage stress and boost your spirits
  • Stay strong and active

Goal Setting

Setting goals is important with any new task. Our current goals:

  • Walk every weekday morning (when the weather permits) and every afternoon or evening on Saturday and Sunday.
  • When we walk, we will walk from our house to the other side of our subdivision and back.
  • We will do it together.

Eventually we’ll set bigger goals such as amount of time walking and distance, but it is always best to take small steps when starting a new routine. Now I just need to figure out what we want to do when Winter rolls back around.

Do you walk everyday? If you do not and you do not work out regularly in some other way I recommend you consider it. It is easy to do and can be very enjoyable. I recommend bringing a friend with you or listening to an audio book while you walk.
